How many software engineers 🤓 does it take to fix HMRC webchat?
I spend quite a bit less than your 5 hours a year using webchat. Even so, it tried my patience (and my F5 key). I thought it'd be fun to build a little Covid-19 lockdown project to make HMRC webchat better.
Well, it's safe to say that my little project got out of hand. How? I'm glad you asked.
- Firstly, HMRC change their website code much more often than they change the tax code.
- Secondly, I shared it with some friends who work in small accounting practices. Once they started using it, there were plenty of tweaks, suggestions and, well, eventually it grew to what you see today.
